News - Recent successes from Segora entrants
Roger Elkin is the winner of the poetry section in This is a Book about Alice (Earlyworks Press, 2013) and Jocelyn Simms is one of the commended poets. Christopher North came second in The New Writer collections, 2012, with Margaret Eddershaw commended. Owen Lowery’s collection Otherwise Unchanged is published by Carcanet. Neil mac Neil has four poems in Ravenglass Poetry Anthology Vol 111, 2013, and his poem, White Sails of a Regatta is published by OUP Workbook for International schools. Thelma Laycock’s poem ‘Sea Battle’ has been selected by Grey Hen Press for an anthology, Running Before the Wind, and her Birthday Wishes by Indigo Dreams for Heart Shoots. Short story writers Fleur Smithwick and Clare LeMay are both short-listed for the Fish competition and Anne Woodford will be running writing workshops in Saumur in association with the English Library, Angers www.ellia.org. Bruce Harris is featured in an anthology by Sentinel with Cleaning Up, first short-listed in Segora, 2011. So, please get your pens or keyboards out and send in more entries to the Segora Competitions. A new Segora anthology will be produced in 2013. Good luck to all the writers.
