Writers’ Block
(Group founded 1999)
The Writers’ Block is for those who take their writing seriously and are open to exploring new avenues.
We believe writing in different forms builds confidence and revitalises the author’s perspective. Through our course you will be introduced to a variety of stimuli including music, art and colour as well as some of the best in contemporary writing.
There is nothing quite like the Writer’s Block – it is an enriching experience.
Members write primarily for pleasure, personal development and health. Most have, however, found a wider audience through publication in the following: The Interpreter’s House, Rialto, Fire, Orbis, Pulsar, Decanto, Scintilla, Iota, Connections, Current Accounts, Envoi, Other Poetry, Ver, The New Writer and many other magazines and anthologies.
The fee of £80 entitles you to 8 of our creative writer’s assignments and, on completion of each, our comprehensive feedback together with suggestions of how your work may be developed - and find publication, if that is your goal. The length of time taken to complete an assignment varies according to the individual and the work created (for example a novel, story or poem); however, the absolute minimum time required for any assignment is 10 hours. Alternatively single assignments including feedback can be ordered for £12.
